深水埗自開埠以來經歷數次變遷，唯一不變的是人潮的密集。日轉星移，碼頭消失，海岸消失，市集規模的逐漸縮小。南昌街昔日的明渠地點轉變為小販市場，繼而被政府清拆改建成爲馬路中央的休憩處。深水埗的居民在有限的居住空間和綠化空間中仍然創造出自己的方寸安寧。我們站在鴨寮街向天空望去，在樓宇之間的簷篷和露台發現了不盡相同的綠色。在人為栽種的之外，我們亦在意想不到地方發現綠葉植物，譬如唐樓外牆、瓦礫縫隙以及大量空置卻仍未規劃的政府用地都能見到野生植物的蹤跡。它們細小而充滿生命力，也令人驚嘆和尋思它們在此生長的由來。人總是將目光投向有生命力的事物，而植物也代表了再生和循環的潛力，我們希望以種植回應處在深水埗的感受，用記憶和行動與土地連繫。

In the heart of Sham Shui Po, whispers of the past breathe through the dreams of tomorrow. While the district undergoes rapid changes, the only constant which remains is the bustling crowd. As days turn into nights, the coastline recedes, the pier vanishes, and markets gradually dwindle in size; a narrow strip for a resting area on Nam Cheong Street supplies a hint of stillness to the vibrant district. Gazing skyward on Ap Liu Street, the residents of Sham Shui Po strive to create tranquility amidst the dense living spaces, with arrays of greenery nestle between canopies and terraces. Tenuous yet vivacious, these plants left us pondering their origins. In response to the essence of Sham Shui Po, we aim to connect with the land through planting, intertwining memories and actions.
